Three reasons to join Providence as a clinic RN
Clinic-based nurses are critical to providing excellent preventative, urgent and outpatient care in the communities we serve. Interested in joining us as a clinic RN? We spoke with Mill Creek Pediatric RN Cindy about three reasons she loves coming to work at a Providence clinic.
1. Providence clinics are welcoming to all.
Cindy started at our clinic around seven years ago after working as an RN for three decades. She says she was immediately welcomed and continues to feel supported by her team every day. “I’ve been lucky enough to experience lots of different nursing specialties, but I will say that the past seven years have been so much fun that I can’t imagine ever leaving this clinic. I feel like I found my home,” says Cindy.
Cindy loves the mutual respect and camaraderie. “I have quite literally a work family, from the front desk to fellow nurses to the doctors to the medical assistants to our managers. We learn from each other, we support each other.”
And Cindy says it’s an environment that’s welcoming to everyone of all backgrounds and experiences, adding, “I love working with a huge melting pot that’s so culturally diverse.”
2. Working as a Providence clinic RN can mean a short commute—and community connection.
Since we have clinics in many neighborhoods throughout Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Texas and New Mexico, many of our caregivers choose to transition from a hospital to clinic setting to work closer to home. Cindy says, “I feel so lucky working just 3.2 miles away from home. And working in a neighborhood close to home also allows you to have good work-life balance and share your love for your clinic with your own neighborhood.”
3. Providence clinics offer tons of opportunities for career growth and development.
Providence prioritizes career development for all caregivers, offering a plethora of opportunities for continuing education and professional advancement. Cindy cites the support she received from Providence in pursuing additional certifications. She says, “Providence paid for me to take extra classes that I needed. And then I took this pretty rigorous exam, and now I’ve been able to practice as a lactation consultant.”
