Curious to learn more? Here’s what three diagnostic imaging caregivers have to say about working at Providence.
“I love the Mission that Providence stands for.”
Steven Shaffley, Lead Imaging Technologist at Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, Oregon, has worked with Providence for 13 years. One of the main reasons: The Mission. “I love the Mission that Providence stands for,” says Steven. “The community support is amazing as well as for caregivers. I feel accepted and appreciated at Providence.”
Andleeb Dombrowski, Senior Director of Imaging at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, agrees, saying, “Seeing how caregivers embody our values fills my cup and is the reason I return every day to work here.”
“We truly care for one another.”
Maria Elena Gomez Sommers, Radiologic Technologist at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, California, has been with Providence going on seven years. She cites her team as one of the best parts of her day-to-day experience. Says Maria Elena, “The people are amazing to work with—they are like a second family, we truly care for one another. In radiology, we get to work with a lot of different people from different departments, and everywhere you go there is always someone willing to help. People here have a true sense of comradery and come together to always put the patient first.”
Andleeb, who’s been with Providence two years now, agrees, adding, “I appreciate the support I receive from other leaders and the executive leadership team.”
Steven praises his coworkers, as well. “The team atmosphere makes this a great place to stay.”
“The benefits are great.”
Diagnostic imaging caregivers at Providence enjoy both the standard and elective benefits they receive. Says Maria Elena, “I really appreciate the retirement benefits that Providence provides. It’s nice to know that financially my family and I will benefit from years of hard work in the future.” Stephen and Andleeb take advantage of elective benefits. Says Steven, “The free counseling sessions have been such a blessing,” and Andleeb uses many of the Choose Well offerings that support her in her fitness journey.
“Providence has always helped me grow.”
Something we hear frequently from diagnostic imaging caregivers is that they appreciate how Providence helps them advance in their careers. Says Maria Elena, “Providence has always helped me grow in the current field I am in and allowed me the opportunity to expand in other imaging areas.”
Steven agrees, adding, “Throughout my career they have supported me advancing my licensure through other imaging modalities, and now into a leadership role.”
Sometimes, advancing means furthering your education, and Providence supports caregivers in that, too, with things like an annual tuition benefit, which Andleeb is currently taking advantage of to pursue a doctorate degree.
