When a new job calls for a big move: Providence relocation benefits
Sometimes, your perfect place to live–or the ideal opportunity to grow your career–is farther than just a hop, skip or a jump away. That’s why we support eligible candidates with a comprehensive relocation package, available as an added benefit for hundreds of roles across our seven-state footprint. We do this in partnership with top relocation company Global Mobility Solutions. Here’s a look at what relocation-eligible positions offer.
A personal touch
Manager of Clinical Operations Mallory relocated to Alaska to take a role at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center. Says Mallory, “Providence paid for everything. They also assigned somebody to help me through all of the transition, which was really awesome. It was great having somebody that I could call and be like, ‘Hey, I don’t know when my car’s getting picked up.”
Relocation can be both exciting and stressful, and our relocation managers and coaches are trained to minimize the stress to make your move as seamless as possible. RN Gerri, also in Kodiak, says, “Our relocation coach assisted me with every little thing.”
A focus on what matters
Home is where the heart is, and we want relocating caregivers to love their new homes and communities. We assist in helping you select a knowledgeable real estate agent or local rental specialist who can screen local communities and real estate/rental listings based on your needs and priorities, so that your search is fast and rewarding. In addition, relocation benefits may include:
- House hunting trip or rental tour: These trips may include hotel accommodations, airfare or mileage reimbursement, a rental car, reimbursable meal expenses and even childcare. In the case of rentals, rental tour fees can be covered, as well.
- Temporary housing: If short-term living arrangements are needed in your new location, temporary housing assistance may be available for up to two months.
- Movement and storage of household goods: Many relocation packages include a pre-move survey of your household goods, packing and moving a minimum of 7,000 pounds of your belongings to your destination, insurance for your items, unloading and placement of all furniture at your new residence. Your package includes shipment of a vehicle, as well.
- Non-perishable food donation through Move for Hunger: In the spirit of serving all, every relocating caregiver is offered the opportunity to donate non-perishable food that may otherwise be thrown out to Move for Hunger. Everything from canned veggies and fruits to baby food, rice, peanut butter and jelly can be donated to support families in need.
Support through and after the process
When moving day arrives, you may be reimbursed for you and your family to travel to your new location, whether you’re relocating to Alaska, California, Oregon, Washington, or one of our other regions. We can even help make those travel plans for you.
Relocated caregivers may receive an allowance to help defray incidental expenses associated with the move. These expenses may include things like meals during the move trip, trips to your previous home, tips for movers, driver’s license and automobile registrations in your new location, cable and phone installation, utility hookups, childcare and more. Pet expenses such as transportation, boarding and veterinarian care may also be included.
The Providence Promise is to, “Know me, care for me, ease my way,” and relocation is one of the many ways we do that for our caregivers. See the rest of our comprehensive benefits.
