Welcome to Kodiak Island, “Montana at the beach”

Known as the Emerald Isle, Kodiak is Alaska’s longest island and is home to many boat harbors welcoming fisherman and travelers. According to Travel Alaska, “Kodiak is among the top three fishing ports in the country and home to 650 boats” and is a world-famous fishing destination, great for caregivers who like to cast a line off the clock. The island also boasts the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, home to more than 3,000 bears, offering exceptional viewing opportunities. Described as “Montana at the beach” by Los Angeles Times, the island is also home of the Kodiak Rodeo and State Fair and Kodiak Crab Festival.
